United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark

With the kind of year the planet's been having climate-wise, it's pretty clear that things are a-changing and we'd better be doing our damnedest to try and put them right. Not a minute too soon, our leaders are taking note.

From December 7 to 18, many of them will gather at the United Nations Climate Change Conference ("Cop15" for short) in Copenhagen, Denmark, to ratify the Climate Change Treaty, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. The official Web site, en.cop15.dk, will bring you up to speed with enough food for thought and water cooler discussions. (If you're the cynical sort: Barack Obama is going to be there, we hear, and if nothing else, that's pretty much a guarantee that the event will get a lot of press.)

While you're online, also check out Hopenhagen (hopenhagen.org), the home of a campaign to raise awareness of the summit and enable concerned global citizens to have their voices heard. You can sign a petition or just send out messages to the 192 UN delegates expected to attend.
