Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Zhong Shan will visit the United States on March 24-26 with the aim of easing trade frictions.
The Ministry of Commerce announced the upcoming visit on its website. It did not mention the yuan but said the discussions would focus on "Sino-US trade balance and trade frictions and other issues related to trade".
Tensions have risen markedly this week after the US Senate threatened to slap duties on Chinese products if Beijing does not revalue the yuan.
