'US is in danger of becoming Europe'

The US economy is "in danger of becoming a carbon copy of European nations" because of President Obama's "big-government" policies, GOP contender Mitt Romney told CNBC Wednesday.

The US economy is "in danger of becoming a carbon copy of European nations" because of President Obama's "big-government" policies, GOP contender Mitt Romney told CNBC Wednesday.

Romney spoke following his narrow Super Tuesday win in what is shaping up to be the most turbulent Republican presidential race in a generation.

Romney's said his proposals to shrink government spending include a laundry list of cuts.

"Subsidies for Amtrak, funding for Planned Parenthood, a national endowment for the arts and humanities; some of these things are going to eliminate federal spending," he said.
