Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren and Indian-American actor Manish Dayal will star in DreamWorks Studios' drama "The Hundred-Foot Journey", which revolves around the face-off between an Indian and French restaurant.
Lasse Hallstrom will direct the film with Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake producing. The script has been adapted by Steve Knight from Richard Morais' best-selling book, Holly Bario, President of Production at DreamWorks announced today.

The film revolves around an Indian family which moves to Southern France and opens an Indian restaurant a hundred feet across the street from a Michelin starred French restaurant.
A culinary battle ensues between the two that ultimately tests the power of family, loyalty and love. "The Hundred-Foot Journey" will begin production in September in France and India and will be released in US theaters on August 8, 2014.
DreamWorks' partner Reliance will distribute the film in India while the Walt Disney Company is distributing the film in the United States and in select international territories.
Mirren, 67, is a four-time Academy Award nominee and won an Oscar for her portrayal as Queen Elizabeth II in "The Queen". She has starred in films like "The Madness of King George," "Gosford Park," "The Last Station," and more recently in "Hitchcock."
Dayal has appeared in projects for Film, TV, and Theater. He portrayed Raj Kher in The CW series, "90210." He has also starred in "The Good Wife", "Law & Order: Criminal Intent", "Rubicon" and "Outsourced".
