New Delhi, Feb 20 (PTI) After his party emerged as largest in local body polls in Maharashtra, NCP chief Sharad Pawar today said he would be happy if Congress does well in Uttar Pradesh. "We will be happy if Congress does well in Uttar Pradesh," Pawar said. His remarks came when asked whether Congress would be worried due to better performance by his party in Maharashtra local body polls. Congress shares power with the NCP in Maharashtra and at the Centre. This was for the second time that Pawar spoke about Congress prospects in Uttar Pradesh where Rahul Gandhi is leading the party campaign. Earlier, Pawar had said if Congress does not do well in Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the blame may go to Rahul.
