New Delhi, Dec 8 (PTI) BJP today sought to know from Congress what action it was initiating against External Affairs Minister S M Krishna following the registration of a case against him by the Lokayukta Police in Karnataka. "Congress should reply on Krishna after an FIR was registered against him... The whole nation is waiting to see what action Congress will take on Krishna," said BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain. An FIR was registered against Krishna and two other former Karnatka chief ministers by the Lokayukta Police on a complaint alleging they had facilitated illegal mining during their tenure. "The Congress leaders have often said that corruption is not eradicated by merely giving lectures. What is Congress' stand on Krishna?," the BJP leader said adding "will Congress protect Krishna"? Krishna, meanwhile, defended himself saying he had no role in the issuance of licences for mining as Chief Minister and expressed the confidence that the judiciary will put to rest "unholy attempts at his character assassination".
