Chennai, Feb 6 (PTI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today directed releasing water from Vaigai Dam in Theni district to benefit irrigation in three southern districts. Â"I have directed that water be released from February 7, 2012 following requests from the farmers in Madurai, Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram districts. Over 1.36 lakh acres of land will benefit,Â" she said in an official statement here.
