New Delhi, Feb 17 (PTI) Dubbing a report of a panel recommending lifting of ban on beef export as "mindless", the VHP today asked the Prime Minister to reject it and threatened to launch an agitation if its demand was not met. In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Vishwa Hindu Parishad senior advisor Ashok Singhal said the recommendation of the Working Group on Animal Husbandry made to the Planning Commission suggesting lifting of ban on beef exports was against the Directive Principles of the State Policy. "Hindus led by saints may come on the streets if the government does not forthwith withdraw the recommendations," the VHP said. Terming the recommendations as "shameless, mindless, audacious and sad", the VHP said it is a "hostility perpetrated against spiritual worldview of the country". A copy of the letter, also signed by organisation's vice- president Omprakash Singhal and the international secretary general Champat Rai, has been sent to Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia.
