Rajahmundry (AP) Nov 14 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Upa-Lokayukta Justice MVS Krishnaji Rao urged the police and the revenue department to work with the endowments department to recover encroached temple lands. He said that a directive for appraisal of temple lands every year will be issued soon. Executive officers of some temples lack awareness of temples lands and in some areas, temple lands have been encroached, he said. Speaking to reporters here, he said that he came to East Godavari district to inspect temple lands of Draksharamam, Inavelli, Antravedi, Annavaram, Appannapalli and Pithapuram. "We have already visited Vijayawada, Srisailam, Mahanandi, Mantralayam, Srikalahasti, Kanipakam and Yadagirigutta temples and inspected properties," he said. Earlier, he visited the Kakinada Government General Hospital, and found lack of cleanliness in wards, bed facilities and toilets. He warned the hospital in-charge that stringent action will be taken after another round of inspection is conducted. PTI COR BA
