Lucknow, Jun 20 (PTI) The Uttar Pradesh government today said that it was buying power worth upto Rs seven crore per day to meet the daily requirements of the state. This was revealed by cabinet minister Shivpal Singh Yadav in the state Assembly today amid uproarious scenes. Admitting that there have been power cuts in the Taj Mahal premises in Agra also to shed the load over the national grid, Shivpal, however, said the government was serious towards maintaining regular power supply to the heritage structure and directives have been given to install enough number of inverters over there for the purpose. The minister, however, failed to give a direct reply to the question by Leader of Opposition Swami Prasad Maurya who asked as to how many times there was a load shedding in the Taj premises. Following this, the agitated BSP members staged a walkout from the Assembly, claiming that there was no grid failure during their party's regime.
