UP ATS nabs two from Bihar with fake Indian currency notes

Lucknow, Dec 6 (PTI) Two persons belonging to Bihar were arrested by the Anti-Terror Squad of Uttar Pradesh Police in Varanasi and fake Indian currency notes were seized from them, official sources said here today. On a tip off, Aas Mohammad and Faizullah, both belonging to East Champaran in BIhar, were arrested by ATS and government railway police from Varanasi railway station late last night, they said. Fake notes with a face value of Rs 2.6 lakh in the denomination of Rs 1000 were recovered from them, they said. During interrogation, the arrested persons disclosed that they got a fake note of Rs 100 for Rs 42 and supplied it in different parts of the country, they said. They also had connections with criminals involved in supplying FICN in Nepal and Malda in West Bengal, they said. Police said Aas Mohammad was arrested with fake currency notes in 2009 also.
