Two sarpanches in Haryana suspended for unlawful activities

Jhajjar (Haryana), Jun 19 (PTI) The Jhajjar district administration today suspended two village heads for alleged irregularities and involvement in unlawful activities. Deputy Commissioner Ajit Balaji Joshi suspended Munda Khera village sarpanch Subhash Yadav and Soldha village head Gyano Devi, officials said. The duo have also been banned from attending any official meeting and other activities of the village panchayat concerned. They have also been directed to hand over movable and immovable properties controlled by them to their panches. "We received complaints against Yadav that he tampered with and burnt official records, and forged signatures. An inquiry headed by Jhajjar SDM found him guilty," Joshi said. In the other case, Gyano Devi was accused of taking illegal possession of a shop. Bahadurgarh SDM conducted the inquiry into the matter and found the charges levelled against the sarpanch correct, the DC said.
