New Delhi, Dec 14 (PTI) Two youths, who allegedly fled with Rs 7.50 lakh and misled sleuths by telling a concocted story of a robbery, has been arrested, police said today. "Sanjeev Kumar (24), resident of Gaurav Nagar in Nangloi, and Nitin Kumar (22), resident of Sunder Nagri in Nand Nagri, have been arrested. An amount of Rs 7.50 lakh, which was misappropriated by misleading the police, has been recovered," DCP, North district, I B Rani said. According to the complaint, Kumar had gone to Chandni Chowk on his motorcycle to collect the money on December 9. He had kept the amount of Rs 7.50 lakh in a bag and started for his office in Pitampura. "But when he reached near Haveli Haider Quali on main road Chandni Chowk, a person stole his bag and ran away. He tried to chase him but could not succeed," Rani said. After police failed to get any clue despite conducting a detailed inquiry, they decided to interrogated Kumar at length. Police conducted detailed enquiry at the spot and interrogated miscreants previously involved in such type of cases but no clue could be found. When police interrogated Kumar, he broke down and confessed that on December 9, he had collected the payment from Chandni Chowk, Rani said. Kumar then called his brother-in-law, Nitin to Chandni Chowk, and made a plan to misappropriate the amount. He handed over the bag to Nitin and made a false PCR call about the "robbery". Nitin was also arrested from his residence and Rs 7.50 lakh was recovered from his possession. Both of them has been sent to judicial custody.
