New Delhi, Feb 20 (PTI) Delhi Police today claimed to have smashed a racket involved in betting during a cricket match between India and Australia with the arrest of two youths, including a graduate. The racket had allegedly raised bets to the tune of Rs 30 lakh during yesterday's match between the two countries. Naresh Kumar and Surender Kumar were arrested from a house in Shastri Nagar yesterday during the match following a tip off, I B Rani, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), said. Naresh is into transport business. He likes to live a lavish life so he started running a betting racket for earning easy money, she said. Surender, a commerce graduate from Delhi University, is running a restaurant at the ground floor of his house. He came in contact with Naresh Kumar and other bookies and got into cricket betting and running satta racket. "To confuse the police they used the private chamber of lawyer for running their racket. The chamber was air- conditioned and fully furnished with all required fittings for betting setup. Arrangements were made in such a way that no one could smell the presence of the racket," Rani said. Nineteen mobile phones and other accessories were recovered.
