Agartala, Feb 15 (PTI) The Tripura government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the lynching of a tribal woman by branding her as a witch at Chalitabankul in South Tripura district, a top official said today. Chief Secretary S K Panda said the government had ordered a magistrate level inquiry into the killing and beating of two villagers, and DGP was also asked to undertake a separate investigation into it, he told reporters. A group of villagers attacked house of Dharmasree Tripura (60) at Chalitabankul in Sabroom subdivision on Friday and took her and two of her relatives to a nearby jungle. Dharmasree was allegedly lynched and her two relatives seriously injured.
