Three killed as car hits them, mob sets car on fire

Jamshedpur, Apr 25 (PTI) Two of the three persons, who had sustained injuries after a speedy car hit them at Dhatkidih here, succumbed to injuries today. Identified as Asraf Khan and Zaheed Alam, they were being treated at the Tata Main Hospital here. Earlier, enraged mob set the car involved in the incident on fire after it hit three persons allegedly in course of a car race last night. The incident occurred when one of two persons engaged in car racing lost control over the speeding vehicle and rammed three youths standing on the road side. Following the incident, a large number of people had assembled on the spot and torched the car in the accident, police said adding that the occupants of the car managed to escape following the incident. Admitting that the enraged mob set the car involved in the accident on fire, Senior Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Kumar Jha denied any car racing behind the incident. PTI BS
