Sukma collector meets Karuna

Chennai, May 18 (PTI) Sukma Collector Alex Paul Menon, who was recently released by Maoists after holding him captive for 12 days, called on DMK President M Karunanidhi today. Accompanied by wife Asha, Menon called on the DMK chief at his residence. Menon, who hails from Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu, told reporters he thanked Karunanidhi for urging the Centre to take steps for his early release when he was abducted by naxalites in Chhattisgarh last month. He had earlier this week called on Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to thank her for taking up his case.
