Sri Lankan national imprisoned for narcotics smuggling

Kakinada (AP), Sep 18 (PTI) The first additional sessions judge K Syamaladevi today sentenced a Sri Lankan national named Nihal Prasantha (33) to ten years' rigourous imprisonment and a Rs 1-lakh fine for narcotics smuggling. He was arrested on October 8 last year by Kakinada marine police for possession of 6.485 kg of charas (hashish). The case was investigated by marine inspector YRK Srinivas, while additional public prosecutor Rajendhra Prasad conducted the prosecution. PTI COR BA PTP
