New Delhi, Feb 14 (PTI) The Supreme Court judgement cancelling 122 2G licences will have no bearing on the work of the Joint Parliamentary Committee examining the issue, committee chief P C Chacko said today. "The SC judgement has been hailed by the government...it will have no bearing on our task to advice future governments on pricing and telecom policy," he told reporters here. To a question on a CBI court dismissing a petition of Subramanian Swamy to make Home Minister P Chidambaram an accused in the 2G spectrum case, he said the JPC was not concerned with the matter. Asked whether the 'clean chit' to Chidambaram by the CBI court meant clean chit to the minister by the JPC as well, he said such a question has not arisen so far before the panel. "No external decision is binding on the committee...we are not probing his role...and this issue has not come up before the committee at all," he said. He said there had been letters from members seeking appearance of various ministers, including the Finance Minister. "But there is an unwritten rule in Parliamentary committees not to call ministers...secretaries are the custodians of ministry documents. We are getting all the documents we have asked for," he said recalling that the then Finance Minister was called before JPC which looked into the securities scam.
