Lucknow, Feb 10 (PTI) Congress today said that the recovery of cash and weapons from the house of a BSP leader in Basti yesterday vindicates its viewpoint that UP Chief Minister Mayawati was shielding criminal elements. "The recovery made from the house of district unit general secretary of BSP, Dr Kitabullah in Gayghat locality under Kalwan police station area yesterday exposes the reality of Mayawati and her links with such elements", Congress spokesman Ram Kumar Bhargava said. It also goes on to prove the reality of her claims that she has thrown out goondas and criminals from her party, he said demanding an inquiry into whether Kitabullah was running some kind of racket or had an illicit arms factory. Mayawati has also not expelled him from the party so far, Bhargava said. Besides cash, two pistols (nine mm made in USA), four country-made revolvers, one single barrel gun, one airgun, cartridges of different kinds were recovered from Kitabullah's house and he along with his son and four ladies were arrested.
