Rail link project to soon come up in Poonch: MP

Jammu, Feb 11 (PTI) Centre has approved for a rail project to connect border district of Poonch with railway network of the country, MP for Jammu-Poonch Constituency Madan Lal Sharma said today. "The project will change development scenario of Pir Panjal region on completion," Sharma said while addressing awareness camps at Balakote and Salwan area in Mendhar. He also impressed upon executing agencies to strictly adhere to the guidelines prescribed for execution of centrally sponsored schemes. "Centre has decided that all the development projects taken in hand under BADP (Border Area Development Programme) will be framed and executed with concurrence of respective sarpanchs, moreover funds for such works would be released to panchayats directly hence forth," he informed. On execution of MGNREGA, he minister directed Block Development Officers (BDOs) to chalk out various development projects to provide jobs to unskilled labour force. PTI SNK HU
