Python released in jungle
Udhagamandalam (TN),Apr12 (PTI) A 13-foot long python, whose torn jaw was sewn up, was today released into the jungle by forest department officials after post-surgery treatment. The python, with its lower jaw drooping, was found lying in Singara forest range on April three and was brought to Forest veterinarian Kalaivanan by an NGO. The python's jaw was torn while it was attempting to swallow its prey and required 45 stitches.It was put it in a specially made cage in Mudumalai Theppakkad Camp, Kalaivanan said. The stitches were removed last night and the jaw appeared to be perfect now, he said. After proper examination, the reptile was released to the jungles in the presence of District Forest Officer Ramasubramanian and other senior officials. PTI COR NVM BN
