Aizawl, Feb 5 (PTI) Aizawl District Magistrate Franklin Laltinkhuma today issued prohibitory order disallowing the 'Hmar Convention' to be held at Sakawrdai village bordering Manipur during February 5 to 7 due to the coming by-election to Chalfilh assembly constituency. Laltinkhuma in his order said that the proposed convention could trigger disharmony and law and order problem among the different ethnic Mizos as the village falls under the Chalfilh seat. The proposed convention was organised by the newly-formed Aizawl-based Hmar Welfare Committee in the wake of the powerful Central Committee of the Young Mizo Association (YMA)'s appeal not to form any organisation based on ethnic Mizo communities. Leaders of the minority Lai and Mara communities in south Mizoram's Lawngtlai and Saiha district also planned to attend the convention of the 'non-Lushai speaking ethnic Mizo communities'. PTI HCV MM
