Puducherry, Feb 20 (PTI) The State Planning Board of Puducherry, which met here today under the chairmanship of Lt Governor Dr Iqbal Singh, projected an outlay of Rs 3,961 crores for the fiscal 2012-2013 through a draft plan document formulated at the meeting. The Lt Governor stressed at the meeting that there should be sustained efforts on the part of the officials of the departments and members of the Board "to break away from the traditional approach and that they should adopt more innovative methods and pathbreaking ideas in planning for the development of the Union Territory of Puducherry," an official source said. Singh drew the attention of the members of the Board and officials to the proposed outlay of Rs 3,961 crores for the 2012-2013 fiscal and welcomed the proposal to hike outlay in Health, Education, Renewable Energy and Tourism sectors in the incoming fiscal as these sectors "are engines of development," the source said. He also stressed that development of infrastructures could be taken up through Public Private Partnership mode. Puducherry Chief Minister, N Rangasamy, who is the Vice-Chairman of the Board, Ministers and Leader of the Opposition, V Vaithilingam, were among those present at the meeting.
