Odisha Govt declares rural poll days as paid holidays

Bhubaneswar, Feb 6 (PTI) Odisha government today declared the rural poll days beginning from February 11 as regular paid holidays, official sources said. In view of the ensuing Panchayat election scheduled to be held on 11th, 13th, 15th, 17th and 19th February, 2012, the Labour and Employment department has declared the poll days as regular paid holidays. Management of all business, trade, industrial undertakings, shops and commercial establishments should declare the Poll day as regular paid holiday to their employees on the date of poll fixed for their local areas for convenience of voters to cast their votes, a notification issued by the Labour and Employment department said.
