NCP emerges single largest party in Ulhasnagar civic body

Thane, Feb 17 (PTI) The Congress-NCP alliance and Shiv Sena-BJP combine won most of the seats among themselves in the neighbouring Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC). NCP emerged as the single largest party, winning 21 seats in the 78-member Corporation, currently ruled by the saffron combine. Its ally Congress bagged eight seats. Shiv Sena won 19 seats, while BJP emerged victorious in 11. RPI won 4 seats, BSP 2 and Raj Thackeray-led MNS bagged one. Independent and others accounted for 12 seats. The party wise position in the outgoing House was SS-16, BJP-11, MNS-2, INC-5, NCP-15, RPI-6, Independent and others 21.
