Mohiniyattam dancer threatens to go on fast on Feb 14

Thrissur,Feb11 (PTI) Mohiniyattom exponent 'Kalamandalam' Hemalata today threatened to go on fast on February 14 in front of the Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University for Art and Culture near here demanding cancellation of M Phil, Ph.D, P H D (Part-time) entrance exams held on November 30 last. The students, appearing in the examination,were allegedly allowed to copy from the texts and some of them used mobile phones to get proper answers, Hemalatha told reporters here. Preferential treatment was given to certain students who were related to the University staff. If the University did not cancel the examination and re-conduct it fairly, she would launch an indefinite fast, she said. Hemalata holds the world record in Mohiniyattam, performing 123.15 hours without break in 2010.
