New Delhi, Feb 17 (PTI) Men sneaking into women's coach on the Delhi Metro, beware! The Delhi Metro today launched a 'Special Checking Drive' to penalise men who enter into Women's coach on Metro trains that would continue for the next one week. 11 flying sqauds, comprising a station manager, Delhi Metro Rail police staff, security controller and 2 security guards, will fan across all six operational lines of the Delhi Metro to keep a vigil on unauthorised entry of men into women's coaches. The vigil will be intensified during peak hours -- 09:00 AM to 11:30 AM and 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. "As part of the drive, the flying squads will travel in trains and conduct surprise checks to ensure that women commuters feel safe and comfortable while travelling in the Metro even during late hours," a Delhi Metro spokesman said. Those who are found breaking the rules, disobeying the instructions of the flying squads or refusing to pay the fine (Rs. 250/-) will be de boarded from the train and will be handed over to the Delhi Metro Rail Police. Along with this special drive, DMRC has also started running awareness messages on all the LCD TVs installed on stations regarding 'Ladies Coach and unlawful entry into ladies coach by male passengers'. The decision to conduct the drive was taken following complaints from women passengers regarding entry and misbehavior by male passengers inside the ladies coach in recent days. Women commuters can also inform DMRC 24X7 Helpline Number 155370 in case of any misbehavior or unauthorised entry into ladies coach by male passengers, the spokesman said.
