Meghalaya CM begins pre-budget consultations

Shillong, Feb 14 (PTI) Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma today began pre-budget consultations with all stakeholders at Tura to get a first hand knowledge of people's aspirations from the government. Government agencies, Autonomous District Councils, civil societies, citizens and students attended the consultation meet. The exercise, the first in the North East, allows participation of all stakeholders to put in their suggestions and recommendations on investment strategies in tourism, industries and other key sectors of the economy and areas of development, which could be integrated into the annual budget of the state. The government will also meet stakeholders in Shillong on February 17 as part of the exercise.
