MCD launches anti-encroachment drive om east Delhi
New Delhi, Dec 8 (PTI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) today embarked on an anti-encroachment drive in east Delhi, razing over 130 shops, including 100 temporary ones besides demolishing illegal portions of 29 buildings. According to MCD spokesperson, the civic body carried out the encroachment removal drive in Geeta Colony and Patparganj road, removing 100 temporary and 30 permanent shops. "This action has been taken to decongest the area by removing encroachment on the public land," he said. The MCD also carried out demolition drives in Rohini (20), Civil Lines (3) and Sadar Pahar Ganj (3) Zones.
