Rourkela (Odisha), Feb 11 (PTI) A man was arrested for alleged torture and dowry-related death of his wife in Madhusudanpally area of the steel city, police said today. Padman Pallai was allegedly torturing his wife Jayanti for bringing more money from her parents, the police said. Jayanti was fed up with her husband's behaviour and drank poison on Wednesday and died at Ispat General Hospital yesterday. Jayanti's father filed a complaint with woman police station here alleging that torture for more dowry led his daughter to commit suicide, police said. Jayanti's father has also alleged that his son-in-law and other family members have been torturing her with demands for more money. Padman was arrested yesterday and investigation was on, they said.
