Mainpuri mishap toll climbs to 25

Mainpuri, Feb 8 (PTI) With two more persons succumbing to injuries, the death toll in the collision between a bus and a truck near Haveli village has risen to 25 today. While one person died at the district hospital in Mainpuri, another succumbed to injuries at Gramin Ayurvigyan Sansthan at Sefai, police said. The incident took place last night near Haveli village in Oncha area when the bus, carrying over 40 passengers from Rathrea village, collided with the truck, they said. The passengers were on way to attend an engagement ceremony at Bagwala village in Etah district. The critically injured were rushed to a district hospital in Mainpuri from where nine were referred to Sefai (Etawah) and Agra hospitals. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the causes of the accident.
