Local court clerk held on graft charges

Tirunelveli (TN),Jun15 (PTI) A clerk of a local court has been arrested after the Judicial Magistrate caught him red-handed while allegedly receiving Rs 20 as bribe for providing a copy of a charge-sheet, police said. Police said Nanguneri Court record clerk Mariappan allegedly received the bribe from one Murugan last evening. Magistrate Sundararaj caught him red-handed and informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Govindaraj, who arrested him. Mariappan has been remanded to judicial custody.
