Ranchi, Feb 13 (PTI) RJD supremo and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad will appear before a special CBI court tomorrow to record his statement in connection with the multi-crore fodder scam. Prasad is one of the 46 accused persons in the case, pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 37.7 crore from Chaibasa Treasury in West Singhbhum district between 1992 and 1995. In the first week of February the special CBI court had rejected Prasad's plea to allow cross examination of witnesses of the prosecution and asked him to appear before it to record his statement this week. The court of Pravas Kumar Singh today began recording statements of other accused in the case under CrPC 313. Out of the total 53 cases registered in the Rs 950 crore scam, investigation into 41 have been completed with over 300 persons being convicted. Lalu faces charges in six fodder cases---five in Ranchi and one in Patna. He had been acquitted by a Patna court in a disproportionate assets case, related to the fodder scam, in 2006.
