Kandla port operations affected as transporters go on strike

Kutch, Dec 7 (PTI) Operations at the Kandla Port here was affected after a flash strike by truck transporters following which there was a traffic was stranded for nearly two kilometers. "There were many problems pending with port authorities and since there was no attempt to resolve the issue from their side we have gone on a strike," a transporter Jaydev Hayachi of Gadhvi Transport said. Traffic manager at the Kandla Port H C Venkatesh said port authorities were trying to resolve the issue with the transporters and hoped to find a solution by late night. Due to the strike, there was a traffic jam for upto two km and operations at the port have been affected. PTI COR PB PD VKV
