Jammu, Feb 8 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir government today enhanced by three times the salaries of the Councillors of Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir. The state cabinet, which met here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, approved enhancement of salary of Councillors of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh-Kargil from Rs 10,000 to 30,000 per month prospectively. Minister for Tourism & Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora, Chief Executive Councilor Ladakh Hill Development Council(LAHDC) Rigzin Spalbar thanked the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs A R Rather for conceding the long-pending demand of Councillors of Ladakh and Kargil to increase in their salary from Rs 10,000 to Rs 30,000 per month prospectively.
