Jammu, Feb 9 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir Special Anti- Corporation Court has ordered a probe by the State Vigilance Organisation into allegations of multi-crore scams against Congress minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din. Special Judge (Anti-Corruption) Pawan Dev Kotwal directed Jammu SVO SSP to verify the allegations of multi-crore scams in PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control departments during the tenure of Taj and take necessary action, officials said here today. The direction was given in response to a complaint filed by Jan Mohammed Rishi, a resident of Jammu's Nowabad area, against Taj. Rishi alleged crores of rupees were swindled in the multi-crore scam in PHE Division, Rajouri by giving contracts without tenders. He also alleged sub-standard water pipes worth crores of rupees were procured and Rs 18 crore of National Rural Drinking Water Program was diverted to Bhaderah illegally during Taj's tenure as PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control minister. Meanwhile, welcoming the probe, Taj said it will give him an opportunity to prove his innocence.
