Jaipur, Feb 15 (PTI) A local court today dismissed the appeal of a servant of late Rajmata Gayatri Devi seeking its direction to restrain Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) from stopping him carry out construction in erstwhile royal family-owned land here. Additional District and Sessions judge Mahendra Sharma dismissed the appeal filed by Shyam Singh when it came up for hearing. The court held that there is no ground to interfere with the order of magistrate as Singh is neither a part of royal family nor the land, as alleged by him, is recorded in the municipal record in his name. Mere possession of land does not entitles Singh to own the land, the judge further said. Singh has staked his claim on 1,444.44 square yard of land situated near the Durgapura Railway Station in the heart of city. When Singh started construction in the plot, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation had objected to the same claiming its title over the land.
