Shimla, Dec 15 (PTI) In a move aimed at bringing more illegal land deals to light, the Himachal Pradesh government today extended the term of inquiry commission probing the 'benami' land deals in the state by three months. The Cabinet decided to extend the term of the commission till March 31, 2012, so that more complaints of illegal land deals can be brought to the notice, official sources said. Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal had ordered an inquiry to expose benami land deals after several such cases were reported in the state. The Cabinet also approved amendment to the state Industrial Policy, besides deciding to amend the First Schedule of the Himachal Pradesh Minor Minerals (Concession) Revised Rules, 1971 to revise existing rates of royalty of minor minerals.
