Haryana meet to discuss new liquor policy

New Delhi, Feb 10 (PTI) Officials of the Haryana Excise and Taxation Department today discussed the state's new liquor policy and sought views of various stakeholders, including distillers and brewery-owners. The meeting, presided over by state Excise and Taxation Minister Kiran Choudhry, was also attended by Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Excise and Taxation, Ramendra Jakhu, Commissioner Excise and Taxation Anurag Rastogi, department's additional Commissioner-cum-Collector S K Sharma, besides representatives of distilleries and breweries, an official release said. The meeting was an exercise to elicit views and suggestions of stake holders before finalising the Liquor Policy of the state for 2012-13. Various aspects of the present and future Liquor Policy were also discussed in light of past experiences.
