ABUJA (Reuters) - Gunmen kidnapped seven foreigners when they stormed the compound of a construction company in northern Nigeria's Bauchi state early on Sunday, the police said.

Bauchi Police Chief Mohammed Ladan confirmed the attack in Jama'are town but declined to give the nationalities of those taken.

Two security sources said that among those kidnapped were a Briton, an Italian, a Greek and more than one Lebanese worker. The Italian foreign ministry confirmed one of its nationals was taken in the raid.
