Naveen Bhubaneswar, Feb 7 (PTI) Amid allegation of attempt to suppress alleged sexual assault of a Dalit girl of Pipili in Puri district, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today said his government was working "sincerely" to give justice to her. "It is certainly a tragic incident. The victim is being provided with best of treatments available in the state," he told reporters here taking a break from the whirlwind electioneering for the ensuing panchayat polls. Noting that the government had taken several steps after it came to know about the incident, Patnaik said a judicial inquiry commission was constituted to probe the matter. A retired Orissa High Court judge is entrusted with the responsibility of investigating it, he said. On allegation that the accused persons were being shielded by ruling BJD leaders, Patnaik said he had already ordered the CID, Crime Branch to probe the matter. All the persons named in the FIR lodged by the victim's father, had so far been sent to jail.
