Margao, Feb 21 (PTI) Goa mauled Maharashtra 11-1 to top the West Zone group in the 34th Sub-Junior National Football Championship (West Zone) here this evening. The home team's stylish and versatile striker Stany Braganza completed a hat-trick, while scoring as many as five goals for Goa, who led 8-0 at half-time. Braganza found the mark in the 3rd, 7th, 13th, 36th and 89th minute of play. The other goal scorers were Akiraj Martins (22nd, 45th minute), while Jesmon Soares, Delbert Fernandes, Jaison Lucas and Aldrich Coelho, scored a goal each in the 41st, 46th, 55th and 72nd minute of play respectively. Maharashtra's lone goal came through Ahuban Saloke. Goa pocketed 12 points, while Madhya Pradesh, who stood second, collected nine points, to qualify for the main nationals in the 10 team competion from across India from different groups to be played at Vasco and Margao. Earlier in the day, Madhya Pradesh registered a 3-0 victory over Rajasthan to finish second behind Goa, who remained undefeated.
