Agartala, Feb 17 (PTI) Ahead of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram's visit to camps of displaced Reangs in Kanchanpur subdivision of North Tripura district tomorrow, three make shift houses were gutted there, the police said today. Three thatched houses at Hezacherra camp were gutted last night, DIG (Police control) Nepal Das said. "We do not think it is a sabotage, but investigation is on." Official sources said Chidambaram would land at the Agartala airport at around 12-30 PM and leave for the camps by helicopter and speak to the refugees and also to government officials of Mizoram and assess the problems of repatriation. More than 35000 Reangs, who were known as Brus in neighbouring Mizoram, are sheltered in six refugee camps at Kanchanpur after they migrated from Mizoram following ethnic clashes in 1997. A central government delegation headed by Joint Secretary, MHA (N-E circle), S Singh arrived here during the day and met Tripura Chief Secretary S K Panda and officials of Tripura and Mizoram governments on the problems of repatriation of the Reang refugees.
