FIR lodged for circulation of objectionable booklets

Mainpuri (UP), Feb 6 (PTI) An FIR has been lodged against unidentified persons for circulating booklets containing objectionable and defamatory material against some Congress leaders. The booklets were circulated across the district allegedly by a Delhi-based organisation on Saturday morning, official sources said here. On the directives of the returning officer Jai Shankar Dubey, tehsildar sadar has lodged an FIR against unknown persons at Kotwali police station yesterday. District Magistrate Ranvir Prasad said that no person trying to disrupt the election process, would be spared. Superintendent of Police Nitin Tewari has entrusted the enquiry to the local intelligence unit and has sought a report within a week.
