FDI vote rejection of BJP politics: Kamal Nath

New Delhi, Dec 7 (PTI) Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath today termed the vote in favour of FDI as "rejection" of BJP's politics and dismissed allegations that Government had bought votes for ensuring its victory. "The BJP always makes these allegations. I wish they were better losers. They lost in the Lok Sabha, they made these allegations. They lost in the Rajya Sabha and they are again making these allegations. This is the rejection of the politics of the BJP," he told reporters. The Minister was asked to comment on allegations that the Government had bought votes in the Upper House today. "There was no issue of FDI because it has been left to the states. If there was anything left to this debate, this was pure politics," he added. Reacting to suggestions that the Government had used the CBI to ensure its victory on the issue, Nath said, "When on the nuclear deal, the BSP supported the BJP, at that time they did not see the CBI. "When someone votes in their favour, then there is no CBI and when someone votes against them, then CBI comes into play. This exposes the intention and thought process of the BJP." The Parliamentary Affairs Minister said it was "simple" to manage the numbers in favour of the Government as the political parties understood that the debate on the issue was just political. "I was just urging the parties to recognise the content of this debate which was just political. The parties decided that they are not going to support the politics of the BJP," he said.
