One of China's most celebrated authors and its leading One of China's most celebrated authors and its leading dissident voice, Murong Xueun will discuss about the quiet, imperceptible change in the voices of young China's favourite writers. Celebrated for his dark and funny novels of contemporary Chinese urban life in works like 'The Missing Ingredient', Murong's writing explores themes such as corruption, business-government relations, and disillusionment over modern life in China. In a nostalgic conversation, maestro Satyajit Ray's female protagonists will be at the focus as actresses Madhabi Mukherjee, Sharmila Tagore and Aparna Sen talk with director Rituparno Ghosh on 'Nayikar Bhumikay — Satyajiter Naari Choritro'. Nobel laureate Amartya Sen and actress Sharmila Tagore will discuss India's economic, cultural and social growth in the first 65 years of Independence in another segment on 'What Moves India, What Stops It'. Lyricist-poet and writer Javed Akhtar will join filmmakers Saeed Akhtar Mirza, Dibakar Banerjee, Kaushik Mukherjee and Sangeeta Datta as they discuss aspects of cinema. Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor will talk on the first 25 years of his published writings and everything in between. Other visiting authors include Jeet Thayil, Deborah Baker, Amish Tripathi, Tavleen Singh, Anita Nair and Ravi Subramanian. Former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly will unveil Sharmila Tagore's new book on her late husband and cricketer 'Tiger' Pataudi.
