Doctor loses Rs 11.14 lakh in internet mobile banking fraud

Kochi, Apr 5 (PTI) In an internet mobile banking fraud, fraudsters withdrew Rs 11.14 lakh from the bank account of a doctor here and transferred the money to various accounts, police said. Police have registered a case and begun investigations in the case. The amount was withdrawn on Mar 30 and Mar 31 from the doctor's Axis bank account here and transferred to various bank accounts outside Kerala, police said. Police said the fraudsters managed to get a duplicate SIM card of Dr Shabeer Khan R Rowthar's number and then blocked his number and the duplicate card was used to commit the fraud.
