Patna, Feb 11 (PTI) Differences continued to dog the political parties in Bihar over naming of the newly-constructed Kosi bridge giving new lifeline to Mithilanchal region. State Youth Congress president Lalan Kumar and former MP Ranjit Ranjan today said they would petition Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Surface Transport Minister C P Joshi soon to name it after veteran socialist leader B P Mandal. While the BJP leader Vinodanand Jha demanded that the bridge be named after former Union Railway Minister Lalit Narayan Mishra, former Bihar Chief Minister and senior JD(U) leader Jagannath Mishra voiced similar demand. The State Congress president Choudhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser demanded that the bridge be named after Lali Narayan Mishra because of his contribution in the Kosi and Mithilanchan regions. On the other hand, state Youth Congress president Lalan Kumar and former MP and Congress leader Ranjit Ranjan demanded that the time had come to give recognition to works done by the veteran socialist B P Mandal in the area and the bridge be named after him. Kumar and Ranjan said any move to name the bridge after L N Mishra would be opposed by the state youth Congress and its activists. (More) PTI AJK CR CR
