Court suspends its order restraining some DDCA officials

New Delhi, Feb 2 (PTI) A Delhi court today suspended its order restraining some office-bearers of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) from discharging any function owing to alleged mismanagement during election process. Additional District and Sessions Judge Dig Vinay Singh suspended his earlier order after it noted that the party, which had initiated the suit, failed to supply necessary documents and DVD containing the video footage of the election process to the restrained officebearers. The court had on January 19 restrained DDCA Joint Secretary (Accounts) Ravinder Manchanda and Ravi Jain, Joint Secretaries (Club) Subhash Sharma and Vivek Gupta, Members (executive committee) Ashok Sharma and S K Chaudhary from discharging any function as office-bearers till today. The earlier restraining order was passed on a suit initiated by Rajneesh Aggarwal and Vinod Garg who had contested the December 21, 2012 elections to the AGM for the post of Joint Secretary (Accounts) and were aggrieved by the election process. However, it was today brought to the notice of the court that there was non-compliance of a mandatory provision to supply to the opposite party a copy of the application for temporary injunction together with other relevant documents relied upon by the applicant immediately after the order granting ex parte interim injunction is passed, the relevant order is liable to be vacated, for the said provision is mandatory in nature. "In the present case, the plaintiff has admittedly not supplied the CD/DVD containing the video footage of the election process. Those DVDs were supplied today in the court," the judge said. more PTI AKI RKS PAL
